The Department of Health, Macmillan UK and a range of statutory and voluntary organisations have joined together to ask people who live on the Isle of Man to participate in an information gathering questionnaire to identify the End of Life Care on the Isle of Man.

The End of Life Care Project aims are to identify what the residents on the Island want for their End of Life Care and the experiences of carers caring for people at the end of their life. Using this information will help us to formulate a framework for the Isle of Man to improve care for all at the end of life.

End of Life is identified as the last year of life regardless of disease, health, social or cultural status.

Questionnaires ran from 27th June 2011  to 15th August 2011.  Results are now available.

Welcome

Welcome to the Isle of Man End of Life Care Website.  The site initially provided access to the End of Life Questionnaire.  The questionnaire is now complete and the results and implementation plan can be found in the NEWS section.

There are also links to other sites, and some information about End of Life Care in general.  The online learning and information resource area for Health Care Professionals will be available soon. If you have any questions please use the contact form on the site.

We realise that talking about death and dying is difficult and there may be times when the questionnaire may cause distress or worry, however, if you should experience these feelings as part of the survey there are many organisations to help listed in the “Useful Links” section.
